What is Emergency-Tracking.com?

Emergency-Tracking.com is a free web app for Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), neighborhood preparedness groups, and Ham and GMRS radio operators. It keeps your people, your neighborhood and your radio check-ins organized in one place, on any phone or computer. It's free and always will be.

We'll be adding an "Operate Offline" feature soon (Fall of 2026) so this app can be used when no data connection is available. It would then sync to the servers when the device is able to reestablish a cell/wifi connection.

What it does

Run radio check-ins

Start a check-in with one tap and mark each member as they check in by radio, text or phone. Members who can't make it can check in early, and every check-in is kept so you can see who checks in and how often.

Organize your area into blocks

Divide your precinct or neighborhood into blocks, attach a map to each one, list every address, and assign one or more block captains to each block.

Know your neighbors

Block captains record who lives at each address on their block, with phone numbers and email, so the right people can be reached when it matters.

Resources and skills

Keep track of what households are willing to share in an emergency (generators, chain saws, trailers, water storage) and the skills nearby (nurses, electricians, ham operators). Search the whole precinct in seconds.

Built for block captains

Block captains get their own login and see their block: addresses, contacts, resources and maps. It works on any phone and can be added to the home screen like an app.

A dashboard for leaders

See readiness at a glance: blocks without a captain, how many addresses have a contact, who still needs an invitation, and how the last check-in went.

Use your own words

Call your people block captains, members or operators, and your groups blocks, zones or units. The whole site uses the words you choose.

Private by design

Your organization's information is only for your organization. Residents' details are never public, and block captains see contact details only for their own blocks.

Who it's for

  • Neighborhood emergency preparedness and "map your neighborhood" groups
  • Ham and GMRS radio groups that run regular check-in nets
